SUNNYVALE, CA, Feb. 24, 2000 - Sandisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) announced today the appointment of Charles Van Orden as its new vice president and general counsel. Van Orden, who has over 19 years of law experience, will also act as secretary for the company. The appointment is effective immediately.
"Charles will be a key addition to our executive staff," said Cindy Burgdorf, chief financial officer. "He brings a thorough high-tech background that will help to continue evolving Sandisk to an exclusive level."
Van Orden, who will oversee all legal activity, has an extensive background in legal matters for technology companies. He has practiced law for over 19 years in California and has over 16 years experience as general counsel in technology manufacturing. From 1982-1988, Van Orden served as general counsel for American Microsystems Inc. in Cupertino, CA. He then moved to Honeywell Measurex Corporation in Cupertino, where he worked as vice president, general counsel and secretary, in addition to serving as a member of the executive committee until 1998. For the last two years, Van Orden has been an attorney in private practice. He will report to Burgdorf.
